How sessions run

Coaching covers batting, bowling and fielding basics through small-sided games rather than drills alone. Sessions are run on grass or hard court depending on the venue, with soft balls for younger and beginner players.

Where cricket comes from

Cricket began as a children's game in south-east England and was being played by adults by the seventeenth century. Its first written laws date from 1744, and the first Test match was played between Australia and England in 1877. Kenya has its own place in that history: the national side beat the West Indies at the 1996 World Cup and reached the semi-finals in 2003.

Programme structure

What the sessions actually cover.

Children join at the stage that suits them — nobody is held back waiting for a term to start.

  1. Basics and safety

Grip, stance and how to move around a ball safely. Soft balls throughout for beginners.

  2. Batting and bowling

A repeatable bowling action and the front-foot and back-foot shots, built one at a time.

  3. Fielding and the team

Catching, throwing, backing up — and why the player furthest from the ball still has a job.

  4. Match play

Small-sided games where the child has to call, decide and take responsibility under mild pressure.

Why it matters

Beyond the board.

Cricket gives a child a defined job inside a group and a turn that is unmistakably theirs. Waiting to bat teaches patience; walking out to bat teaches nerve. Both transfer well beyond the pitch.

Every child plays

We adapt pace, session length and communication to the child in front of us. Tell us what your child needs when you book and we will plan the session around it — no child is turned away.

What it costs

Every session pairs a taught idea with a game where the child actually uses it. Beginners start with how the pieces move and finish their first week playing full games. Returning players work through openings, tactics and endgames at their own pace.
